In the fall of 2011, Mentor Superior began as a project of the Leadership Superior Douglas Program. Mentoring was identified as a need in Superior, and the group decided to tackle the problem. In Summer of 2012, Mentor Superior officially began under the umbrella of the Mentor Duluth Collaborative. Mentor Duluth, a collaborative of youth serving agencies in Duluth and Superior, is committed to placing positive adults in the lives of youth in need of a mentor.
Mentor Superior is currently enrolling youth ages 5-17 from Superior who are in need of a mentor. We are also recruiting adults over the age of 18 to volunteer with our program. Youth and adults commit to the mentoring relationship for a minimum of one year and spend 8-12 hours a month in the community doing things they enjoy.
