About Rachel

Position: Program Advocate & Volunteer Coordinator

Site: Lincoln Park Boys & Girls Club

What is your role as a Program Advocate and Volunteer Coordinator? I work directly with many of the youth we serve in Mentor Duluth. I have a case load of about 20 Mentor Duluth Matches and 30+ youth in waiting. I am one of the main contacts at the Lincoln Park Boys & Girls Club and I help to support families in anyway I can with Mentor Duluth, the Boys & Girls Club and within the community.

What do you like about your work with Mentor Duluth? I have been at the Lincoln Park Boys & Girls Club for over four years now, and I can truly say I love my job. I enjoy being able to see the kids on a day to day basis. I strive to be that positive pole model in their lives and someone they can look up to and really trust. Since starting my role with Mentor Duluth, I like how I am more connected with the families and connected with the community as a whole.

What are some of your hobbies and interests? When I am not working I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and being outdoors. Going on new adventures and traveling are two of my favorite things to do, I try to travel somewhere new once a year. Even just traveling to the Twin Cities to see my family is something I look forward to every month.
